I am a complete idiot…nearly wrecked transom
Lesson learnt the hard way today…do not use a power plane the wrong way across the grain of ply wood! I was planing one of the longitudinals and went over the transom and heard a big crunching noise…a large section of the transom flew off. I think I can salvage this as I had planned to put a vaneer or thin good quality ply over the back anyway to cover the carriage bolt holes, but I will be extra careful with the power plane from now on.
